A question frequently asked by our international candidates is whether it is possible to handle day to day life and business without learning Mandarin. The answer is yes in Winbond but may not be positive for all around Taiwan. Our business footprint spreads around the world so English is no doubt communicative at our work place and Taiwanese local colleges are known for friendliness when it comes to sharing information for daily life. However, it can be a bit difficult when you do not have some Mandarin ability when exploring remote places or trying to figure out complicated governmental policies.

Traditional Chinese characters can be challenging but you will survive it if learning in a systematic way.
The most frequently used spelling and typing system is Zhuyin(注音) but you are more likely to learning Mandarin by Pinying(拼音). You can always download a app or do copy-paste when you need to text in Mandarin.
